The purpose of this website to communicate everything you might want to know about the Rockford Rocket and Flag Football Program. Just click on the links for specific information. You’ll find information about sign-up dates, game locations, and information about coaching. We offer 2 programs:
The Flag program offers kids ages 4 – 7 a simple, low-key introduction to game of football. The emphasis is on having fun, learning some fundamentals, and learning to work together.
The Rocket program offers kids ages 8 – 14 an opportunity to play football in an environment that stresses fun, development of football fundamentals, good sportsmanship, discipline, teamwork, and an enjoyment of the game.
The Rockford Rocket Football Program is a member of the Southern division of the NRFL (Northern Rocket Football League). Other members of the Southern division include: Belding, Caledonia, Cedar Springs, Comstock Park, Coopersville, E. Grand Rapids, Grand Rapids Christian, Greenville, Kenowa Hills, Kent City, Kentwood, Lowell, North Park, Northview, Sparta, and Belding.
The Flag program is run independent of the NRFL.
Each youth football program in the NRFL, including Rockford, is a member of the Positive Coaching Alliance (PCA). The "Positive Coaching Alliance (PCA) is a nonprofit organization based at Stanford University with the mission to transform youth sports so sports can transform youth. PCA was created to transform the culture of youth sports to give all young athletes the opportunity for a positive, character-building experience. We strongly endorse the PCA goals and overall vision here in the Rockford Rocket Football Program.
